PDFGenie

Getting started

Convert your first bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV.

PDFGenie turns bank statement PDFs into spreadsheets. It finds the transaction table, splits money in and out, resolves dates and checks every row against the running balance.

Convert a statement

  1. Download the statement as a PDF from your online banking. PDFs straight from the bank have a text layer and convert exactly. Scans and photos saved as PDF work too: they're read with OCR, so check the rows the balance check flags.
  2. Drop the file on the home page (or any bank page).
  3. Review the transactions. Rows marked with a warning sign didn't match the running balance; check them against the PDF.
  4. Download Excel (dates as real dates, amounts as numbers) or CSV.

Password-protected PDFs

Some banks encrypt statements. When that happens you'll be asked for the password. It's used once to open the file and is never stored.

Pages and plans

Free use is counted in documents, each with a page limit; paid plans are counted in PDF pages:

PlanAllowance
Without an account1 document per 24 hours, up to 5 pages
Signed in (free)3 documents per 24 hours, up to 10 pages each
Starter / Professional / Business400 / 1,000 / 4,000 pages per month

Paid plans refresh monthly, including annual subscriptions.

Credit packs are one-off page credits for occasional jobs (a tax season, a loan application): 100 pages for $9, 300 for $19 or 1,000 for $49. They never expire and are used only after your plan's allowance, or for a document over the free page limit. See pricing.

Not a statement?

PDFGenie also extracts ordinary tables. When no statement is recognised you get every detected table as a grid, and the same Excel/CSV downloads.
