Which statements work, and what we do about common layout quirks.

PDFGenie doesn't rely on per-bank templates. It detects tables from the layout of the page, so statements from banks that aren't listed anywhere usually work too.

Banks with dedicated guides

Layouts we handle

  • Separate debit/credit columns or a single signed amount column
  • Running balances on every row, once per day, or only opening/closing balances
  • Dates without a year (resolved from the statement period), dates printed once per day
  • Descriptions that wrap over several lines
  • Tables that continue across pages, with repeated headers and footers
  • Headers in English, Chinese and other languages
  • Scanned statements and photos saved as PDF, read with OCR (sideways and upside-down pages too)

What doesn't work yet

  • Statements where transactions are laid out as free text instead of a table
  • OCR of scripts other than Latin, Chinese and Japanese (for example Korean, Thai or Arabic)

If a statement converts badly, use Something not right? on the result page, or email support@pdfgenie.app.
