What makes Chase statements tricky
- Checking statements list each transaction with a single signed amount and a running balance, so we split it into debit and credit columns for you.
- Dates are printed as MM/DD without a year; we infer the year from the statement period, including December–January statements.
- The transaction table continues across pages with repeated headers and page footers, which we strip before joining the rows.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert a Chase statement to Excel?
- Download the statement PDF from Chase online banking, drop it onto this page and choose Excel or CSV once the transactions appear. Most statements take a few seconds.
- Is it safe to upload my Chase statement?
- Files travel over HTTPS and are converted by our own software, with no AI services involved. They're deleted automatically after 24 hours (72 if the conversion fails, so we can fix it), and you can delete them yourself right away.
- Does PDFGenie check the Chase balances?
- Yes. Each transaction is checked against the running balance where the statement prints one, and the opening/closing balances otherwise. Rows that don't add up are flagged so you can review them.
- Can I convert scanned statements?
- Yes. Pages without a text layer (scans and photos saved as PDF) are read with OCR on our own servers, and sideways or upside-down pages are turned upright. PDFs downloaded from online banking are still the most accurate, and the balance check flags any row OCR may have misread.
